Where have I been???

Wow has this last few weeks been a trip for me and my family. On Dec 23, 2008 I went to the medical center and had a cortisone injection in my back because I have a herniated L3 disk in my lower back. That proceedure helped my back 99% and did nothing for the residually affected left hip, knee and shin. I again had to endoure pain so horrible that I would cry at just the thought of moving. At one point I couldn't even get out of a chair in time to make it to the bathroom due to the excruciating pain I was having.

My dear husband stayed home with me the week of Jan 12-16 and on Friday Jan 16 I had another injection in the hopes it would alleviate the other pain in my lower left extremidy. No such luck. I am now on physical therapy and was just issued a very expensive, but very helpful Tens Unit to wear 24hrs a day to see if that will retrain the mind and muscles to let go and heal.

As I type this blog post I am sitting sipping on warm milk hopeing for a deep restorative sleep because I can't seem to sleep but in 1- 1.5 hour spirts at night.

What are you looking for?

I like to come to my readers occasionally to get ideas of what you would like to see in my store. I have had to remove all baby/child (0-12yrs) items out of my store until the laws have been changed so that we do not have to test for lead.

Update on me

So much has been happening here. On Tuesday Dec, 23 I went in at 9:00am for an epidural cortisone injection and the only thing that is hurting now is my left hip and the top of my left thigh. My back doesn't hurt at all and I am able to sleep in my bed again. For a week I had been sleeping in the recliner in the living room with pillows and blankets. I sure did hate that. Steve was not happy about it either and bless his heart he even slept on the couch a few nights to be near me and help me if I needed it during the night.

It has been clear blue skies and very little wind here. No more snow for about a week and its a beautiful Christmas morning. The kids were up at 5:30am to open gifts and stockings. Fun was had by all.

I have taken out all infant, small child related items until further notice I will still have older children (12yo and up) and adult items. Even though the U.S. Federal law doesn't take effect for a few weeks I am taking things off now so its not a great impact later. Please know at I will still be taking custom orders but will not offer any items for infants/children in my store.

Out of commission for a while

Today comes as no surprise to me. I have known it would come. I had a Dr visit today and I have another ruptured disk in my lower back. I had a ruptured and hernated fixed 10 years ago but it is time to back under the knife and have this one repaired.

I can still crochet but getting items to the post office will be more difficult if not impossible.

Please pray for me and my family as we go through this.
